Stewardship

Stewardship is based on the understanding that everything we have, including personal skills and possessions, is a gift from God. We show our gratitude for these gifts by returning a portion of them back to Him to help build the Kingdom of God on earth. This type of sacrificial giving is:

  • An intentional response to God's generosity
  • Proportionate to size of gifts ("first fruits,” not leftovers)
  • From substance rather than our abundance
  • Tied to our belief that God will provide for our security and not the world

Here are three ways you can help:

  • Join a Parish Ministry or offer up extra prayers
  • Share a skill that could elevate the church
  • Give a financial offering online or during Mass

In addition to normal giving, Catholics are also asked to share at special times:

Special Collections

During Mass after sacrificial giving, we periodically request for prayers and financial help for special causes such as disaster relief and missionary work.

Weekly Offering

Our community parish still needs your support to fund religious education programs, maintenance, and charitable works! May God reward your generosity.

OPTION 1 - Sign-up for Online Giving.

Online giving is convenient and helps the parish by ensuring a predictable income so that we can better serve our community and get the full value from your generosity.

Note: We are currently transitioning to a new Online Giving provider, along with a new parishioner database system. Please consider moving your Online Giving over to the new system at your convenience.

OPTION 2 - You may mail your Offering Envelope (for both St. Columban & St. Peter) to our address: 506 First St. S // Yelm, WA 98597 (Regular postage is required)

OPTION 3 - If you are able or live in town, please drop off your envelope at the St. Columban Parish office (Mon - Thurs 9AM-2PM). You may also use the mailbox in front of the church; please make sure your donation is dropped in the top slot and NOT in Outgoing Mail.

Annual Catholic Appeal

The Annual Catholic Appeal funds ministries and services for our local Catholic community across Western Washington. This combined effort of parishes and missions ensures the availability of outreach ministries, education, faith formation, administration services for parishes, and much more.

This year, our ACA goal is $25,690 for St. Columban & $3,772 for St. Peter Mission.

All contributions received in excess of our goal will come directly back to our community as a rebate. This year's rebate will go towards our General Fund for St. Columban and for kitchen flooring at St. Peter Mission.

It is our hope that ALL of our parish families will participate. The participation last year (2022) was 27% for St. Columban and 61% for St. Peter Mission.

You can make a donation in one of three ways:

  1. Give by phone. Call your donation into the Annual Catholic Appeal Office at 800-809-4921.
  2. Give by mail. Send a check or money order payable to “Annual Catholic Appeal” to:

Fall Stewardship Campaign

One a year, parishioners are asked to pledge money for the upcoming year. Depending upon the amount projected, St. Columban and St. Peter plan their ministry efforts and enhancements.

Making a pledge for the coming year helps us to plan and budget for the needs of our parish community. Even if you are already a faithful contributor to the parish, making your pledge adds value to your gift.

OPTION 2 - Return your pledge card to the collection basket with your ordinary Sunday offering.

OPTION 3 - You may mail your pledge card (for both St. Columban & St. Peter) to our address: 506 First St. S // Yelm, WA 98597 (Regular postage is required)
