We belong to Christ, not ourselves.

We spread the Roman Catholic faith to the communities of McKenna, Nisqually, Rainier, Roy, Tenino, and Yelm in southeast Thurston and southwest Pierce counties. St. Columban Parish and its mission St. Peter Tenino are part of the Archdiocese of Seattle in the state of Washington.

A Community of Faith

We are a Catholic faith community that seeks to place God first, to know him, and to grow in holiness together. We strive to live the Gospel through the Eucharist, in our teaching, and way of life.

Our community has grown since its origins at the former St. Margaret Mary Church in McKenna, and our current church in Yelm is named for the Irish-born 6th century missionary to Europe Saint Columbanus. We have also been present in Tenino since 1891 through Saint Peter Mission, named for the apostle and first pope.

Parishioners contribute their time, talent, and treasure to support several ministries, which include the Daughters of Mary, the Knights of Columbus, and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

Prayer

Lord, kindle our lamps, Savior most dear to us, that we may always shine in your presence and always receive light from you, the Light Perpetual, so that our own personal darkness may be overcome, and the world’s darkness driven from us. Amen.

The National Eucharistic Revival is the joyful, expectant, grassroots response of the entire Catholic Church in the US to a divine invitation. It culminates in the National Eucharistic Congress, held on July 17-21, 2024.
